Aurora Undefined eBook Kate Hinderer

One my favorite aspects of this book is the emphasis on the main character's relationship with her father. It is done well, and that is something I don't see very often in young adult novels. Overall I enjoyed the book very much-quite the page turner! I really loved how it puts trivial high school dramas in their proper place-low on the priority list. It was a tear-jerker, but at the same time relatable. It literally made me cry, and you really see through the eyes of the main character; it also fit the intended young adult audience well. I would recommend this book to a number of my friends!

Aurora Undefined eBook Kate Hinderer Reviews

Aurora Undefined was a sweet read, although it took me a few chapters to really get into. Aurora's whole existence is uncertain as the new school year approaches, because her best friend has left her for the popular crowd. It's almost as though the last three years of friendship between them never existed. In this respect, I was a little peeved with Aurora because she was such a smart girl! However I stepped back, remembered that this book is meant for younger readers than I, and thought about how I would feel if my best friend suddenly vanished from my life in my Senior year of high school. Yup, I'd probably be just like Aurora.

I really fell in love with her character though as soon as things started to progress. As she grew, and learned, and came into her own. I don't want to ruin anything for people who are interested in this book, but there is a huge event that happens in Aurora's life. Something so big, that she doesn't deal with it very well. It is this event that teaches her what it really means to be a friend, and also what it really means to know what you want. The message here was great. Being popular may sound good, but it is such a fleeting thing. Aurora learns to focus more on herself and move everyone else along with her.

The romance aspect in Aurora Undefined is minimal but really cute. I loved Hudson with all my heart. He's the type of best guy friend that we all wish we had. Funny, sweet, and downright stern when it's necessary for him to be. He was always setting Aurora on the right path again, and just being there for her when she needed it. The chemistry and easy banter between the two of them was adorable, and it added a nice extra layer to Aurora's personality.

I'm not sure what else I can say without giving anything away! I can say that this is a sweet read that is definitely worth your time. My suggestion would be to grab a copy of Aurora Undefined and take it to the beach with you, or even perhaps to your vacation destination! It's available on the , so it's easy to transport to. Win/win. Enjoy!
With the description of this book there is not much to go on, but I knew from the first page of this book that I would like it. Aurora's main struggle on the eve of her senior year is being dumped of her best friend since freshman year Allie, for the popular crowd. Both girls have yearned for the popular crowd (what girl doesn't in high school), but Allie was chosen and Aurora was sure Allie would bring her with her or at least change her mind and come back to being her best friend but that hasn't happened. So now she's facing the first day of senior year without Allie. However she does have her best friends Hudson and Julie who the reader can see trump Allie any day of the week. But the reader can also understand where Allie is coming from.

Those first weeks are hard, but Aurora starts getting past it and moving on and having fun with Julie and Hudson again. She's crushing on a popular basketball player but he seems to be dating Allie which hurts Aurora again, but she moves on. I don't want to giveaway much more because everything else that happened was pretty much a surprise to me (except for the love story part - I saw that coming), but the rest should be a surprise when reading.

Let's just say this one will put you through the wringer. It's strong, it's emotional. I thought it was emotional enough with just the betrayal of a friend because I went through that one enough. But there is so much more. Ms. Hinderer layers this book beautifully and the characters of Aurora, Hudson and Julie really come to life right in front of your eyes. They grow and change and become people you really want to know and if you are a teenager I imagine you would want to become. So the characters are very well-done.

I found the story perfectly paced. I connected to the story and I'm a good 20-years over the target demographic, so I see teenagers connecting even more. The emotions rang true, there is selfishness of teenagers (and all humans) but there is love and caring as well and there is growth. The growth is what makes this novel really shine.

If you enjoy contemporary young adult with a love story and great high school dynamics then this is a book for you. Ms. Hinderer has concocted a perfect story that teaches a lesson yet reads like the best story you have read in awhile. And yes I realize a good story and lesson-teaching don't have to be mutually-exclusive but I was a teenager once and I pretty much thought they were )

On the parenting level The parents in this book are very involved in their children's lives, the kids have curfews, they talk with their parents about life, and love and other things. The language is minimal and seems appropriate when used (I can think of only one or two examples of what I consider minor cuss words). There is no sex, though there are some references to sex in the past, but nothing graphic, otherwise there is just some kissing. This is a very clean and well-done book..

I just don't think I can say enough about this book - Aurora Undefined really spoke to me - it's one of those books I wish had been around 12 years ago to give me that boost when I needed it. Good job Ms. Hinderer!
An excellent Young Adult book that makes you realize the important things in life rather than the frivolous drama that sometimes plagues our lives. A tear-jerker to be sure, but filled with such joyful moments! You easily become a part of Aurora's life and feel the turmoil that she goes through in this book!
I loved this book; a beautiful story about friendship, love, and hardship. It's not the usual young adult book which makes it so unique and a page turner. I could relate to the characters in this book and the situations and events that they run into. I have and will recommend this book to many of my friends.
I just finished reading this book for the second time and I loved it even more this time around. I fell in love all over with Aurora and Hudson! This is one of those stories that makes you smile and feel good about life and love. Im keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel.
